What is a Syllabus or Training Curriculum?

Any serious flight instructor is going to work from a curriculum or syllabus– a plan for getting you trained to be a safe and proficient pilot.  This plan should explain to you in great detail how you are going to go from zero time to private pilot.  There are many good syllabi on the market for instructors and schools to use.  Most, when used along with the instructor’s personal experiences, will enhance your training experience and take you toward your goal.
